Obituary for C. Bradley Vuncannon

C. Bradley Vuncannon, 93, of Ellerbe, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Fellowship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Thompson officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church and at other times at the home.
Mr. Vuncannon was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Richmond County, a son of the late Everett and Daisy Williams Vuncannon. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Ellerbe Fellowship Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon, and the Ellerbe Lions Club, where he had served as president, secretary/treasurer and on the board of directors. He served as postmaster in the Ellerbe post office for 28 years and was vice president of E.E. Vuncannon, Inc. and Aberdeen Supply.
He was predeceased by his wives, Susan Gentry Vuncannon and Frances Ruffin Vuncannon; and sisters, Hazel Hardin and Louise Penegar.
He is survived by his sons, C.B. (Pete) Vuncannon Jr., of Ellerbe, and James M. Vuncannon, of Jackson Springs; daughter, Donna Muldrow, of Ellerbe; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ed Vuncannon. of Ellerbe.
