Winifred Helen Trowe, 96, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Kingswood Nursing Home, in Aberdeen.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines, with the Rev. David Beam officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately, at Pinelawn Memorial Park, in Southern Pines.
Mrs. Trowe was born June 20, 1916, in East Chicago, Ind., to the late Alfred and Agnes Hill, of Lansing, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles H. Trowe; a son, Robert Charles Trowe; and brother Arthur D. Hill.
She is survived by her son, Dale Trowe, of Pinehurst; a sister, Loraine Ruf, of Dawsonville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Tammy Farber and husband, Larry, Robert Trowe and Christine Long and husband, Sheldon; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
