Sarah Emma Lowder Strother, of Ashley Heights, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2012.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Ashley Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Huff officiating. Burial will follow at Ashley Heights Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines
She was born June 8, 1925, to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lowder. Ms. Sarah was an avid gardener, enjoyed quilting and crossword puzzles, spending time with dear friends and family, and most of all, being a member of Ashley Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Strother was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dewey Strother; son James Robert “Bobby” Strother; and daughter Sheila Louise Bowling.
She is survived by son, Garry Strother and his wife, Donna, of Whispering Pines; son Carl Strother, of Ashley Heights; daughter Linda Maiolini and her husband, John, of Cincinnati; daughter-in-law Norma, of Ashley Heights; 12 grandchildren, Robert, Jeffrey, Tyler, Diana, Kristen, William, Matt, Cianna, Beth, Alison, Sheri and Ronald; and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sarah’s honor to Ashley Heights Baptist Church, 10351 Aberdeen Road, Aberdeen, NC 28315; or to the Pine Hill Fire Dept., P.O. Box 486, Aberdeen, NC 28315.
