Robert Maxwell MacGregor

style="text-align: justify;"> class="alignleft size-full wp-image-14939" title="" src="http://www.bolesfuneralhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/MacGregor-Robert-WEB.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="200" />Robert Maxwell MacGregor, 82, died August 29, 2012 in Seven Lakes, NC.  Mr. MacGregor was born in Batavia, NY on July 4, 1930 to the late Hugh Gordon and Hazel Ford MacGregor.

style="text-align: justify;">Mr. MacGregor served his country for six years in the USAF during the Korean conflict.  After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he began his career in the automotive industry, holding management positions with Pontiac Motor Division, Avis and Southeast Toyota.  His assignments took him to Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Garden City, NY, San Francisco and Boca Raton, FL.  He was owner of MacGregor Pontiac Buick from 1973 to 1980.  He retired from Southeast Toyota in 1993 and moved to Seven Lakes.  Shortly thereafter he accepted a position as Vice President of Operations for an automotive management company with dealerships in North Carolina and New Jersey.  This eventually led to a partnership in one of the dealerships until it was sold in 2001.

style="text-align: justify;">During his career he received numerous awards and commendations for his performance and served as President of the Pittsburgh Suburban YMCA, President of the Batavia, NY YMCA, and served on the Board of Directors of the Batavia, NY Rotary Club.  He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed motorcycling, golf, and working out and gardening.  He made his first tandem sky dive on his 76th birthday.

style="text-align: justify;">Mr. MacGregor is survived by his wife of 31 years, Norelyn Case MacGregor, his daughters and their husbands; Susan (Don) Hawkins, Cathy (David) Carli, and Laurie MacGregor, all of Batavia, NY and 7 grandchildren; Lindsay Hawkins, Joshua Hawkins, Sara Hawkins Glynn, Nathan Carli, Lauren Carli, Alex Carli and Scott MacGregor; and 4 great-grandchildren.

style="text-align: justify;">He is also survived by three step-daughters and their husbands; Andrea (Lloyd) Herring of Cuba, MO, Cynthia (JJ) Berry of Houston, TX, Lauralyn (Edward) Albers of Ashburn, VA and a step-son, Lawrence Brown of Cuba, MO.  Also, six step-grandchildren; Nathan Hertlein, Justin Hertlein, Thea Berry, Jeremiah Berry, Kyle Albers and Corrie Albers.

style="text-align: justify;">A Celebration of Life will be held at Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.

style="text-align: justify;">In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to The ALS Association, Jim “Catfish” Hunter Chapter, 120 Penmarc Drive Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27603 or to a charity of one’s choice.
