Mary Josephine Luzzi, 73, of Foxfire Village, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at her home.
The family will hold a prayer service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at McDonald’s Chapel, with a reception following.
She was born June 4, 1939, to the late Samuel Bifano and Edna Connor Bifano. Mary was a member of McDonald’s Chapel Presbyterian Church. Mary was a loving lady and was known to many as “Mama Luigi,” a nickname she was given after planning and hosting many Italian luaus in which her family and friends gathered together for a great time.
She was very involved in her family, many times being there to cheer on her two daughters as they participated in high school marching band, gymnastics and sports. Her children and grandchildren were her passion. She had a vibrant personality, charming smile, and was always the family caretaker, making sure the needs of her children and grandchildren were always met. She had a true love for animals and enjoyed dancing.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dana Deak, of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Tina Frausto and husband, Diego, of Alpharetta, Ga.; two sisters, Sue Coleman, of Pinehurst, and Jody Shoop, of Sebring, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Erin Deak, Nicole Frausto and Dylan Frausto.
