Patricia “Pat” DeVore Wyatt, 81, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at her home in McLendon Hills, in West End.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at Boles Funeral Home, in Seven Lakes. Interment will follow at Seven Lakes Cemetery.
Pat was born April 22, 1931, in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of the late Robert B. and Dorothy Vernon DeVore. She was preceded in death by her late husband, James F. Wyatt; and brothers, Robert Jr. and Richard. She is survived by several extended family members.
She grew up in Cincinnati, and later, after graduating from Miami University, she moved to Connecticut, where she met and married Jim. Together they established Fox-Ridge Farm, where they bred and raised several world champion Morgan horses. Later they relocated to North Carolina, where Pat continued her talent showing successful Morgans, Saddlebreds and Hackney ponies.
During this time, Pat also pursued her other passion, becoming a nationally known equine artist, having painted world-famous champion horses and their owners. Her paintings are in Mexico, England and throughout the U.S. Many of her paintings hang in equine museums in the U.S., and reproductions are seen on covers of the largest horse shows in America.
Also an avid bridge player, Pat will be sadly missed by all.
