J. Hope Klingenschmidt Barnhart, 59, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at MacPherson Presbyterian Church, in Fayetteville, with the Rev. James Randall officiating.
Mrs. Barnhart was born Feb. 22, 1953, in Moore County, to the late Ted Klingenschmidt and Vivian Shaw Klingenschmidt. Hope graduated from Pinecrest High School and North Carolina State University in Raleigh. She worked as a senior planner with the Cumberland County Planning Department for 28 years. She was a choir member at MacPherson Presbyterian Church, where she regularly attended.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce Barnhart II.
She is survived by her mother, Vivian Klingenschmidt; her aunt Rebecca Wimberly and husband, Sam; her uncle Jim Shaw, Uncle Ed Klingenschmidt, Tom and Jerolyn Barnhart, their children and several cousins.
