Arte Theodore Knibbs, 69, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at his home in Pinehurst.
A visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home in Southern Pines, Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Born in Harlem, N.Y., Sept. 25, 1943. He was the son of Arthur Knibbs of Pinehurst and the late Lulu Knibbs.
Mr. Knibbs worked many different jobs in his life, including a broker at Merrill Lynch, a legal assistant, and was department manager at Alexanders Department stores in New York. He had a passion for singing jazz and could often be heard at the Pine Crest Inn in Pinehurst.
In addition to his father, Mr Knibbs is survived by his brothers, Dr. Lester Allyson Knibbs, of Hoffman, and Wadi Abdul-Haleem, of Southern Pines.
