John Edward “Eddie” Hardy, 33, of Aberdeen, died Monday, July 9, 2012.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Ives Memorial Baptist Church, in Pinebluff, with the Rev. Don Ballenger officiating. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery, in Aberdeen. Following the burial, friends are asked to join in a celebration of life reception at Ives Memorial Baptist Church fellowship hall. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines.
He was born Feb. 9, 1979, in Moore County. He was a member of Ives Memorial Baptist Church. Eddie loved pro wrestling, spending time with his friends, and enjoyed playing jokes on people. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. He held a special place in his heart for his mother and his family.
Eddie formerly worked at Penick Village as a CNA because of his love for elderly people. Following this, he worked in construction.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Hazelwood Hardy, of Aberdeen; three daughters, Mikayla Beth Hardy, Ashlyn Nicole Hardy and Kaylee Faith Alison; two brothers, Burl Eugene Hardy Jr., of Aberdeen, and Albert Hardy, of Bolivia, NC; four nieces, Liz, Anna, Danielle and Brooke; two nephews, Daryl and Luke; as well as several cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Burl Eugene Hardy Sr.; a brother, Daryl Lee Hardy; his maternal grandparents, Moir and Ruby Hazelwood; and paternal grandparents, Luther and Mae Hardy.
