Carrie Clontz Boles, 92, of Norwood, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Porter United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gene Moore and the Rev. Warren Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Norwood Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Edwards Funeral Home, in Norwood.
Born April 19, 1920, in Chesterfield, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William Baker and Lucy Hagler Clontz. She was employed by Collins & Aikman Corporation in Norwood for over 25 years. She was the nutrition site manager in Norwood for five years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Boles; grandson, Caleb Boles; and sons-in-law Connie W. Morgan and Ervin T. Sumner. She was a loving and devoted mother to five children, Larry Boles, of Norwood, Gaybrielle Morgan, of Albemarle, Speedy Boles and wife, Sherry, of Norwood, Truett Boles, of Landis, and Genevieve Sumner, of Goose Creek, S.C. She was a wonderful grandmother of nine grandchildren, Jamie Boles, of Southern Pines, Richard Boles and wife, Sharon, of Laurinburg, Tessa Whitley and husband, Greg, of Oakboro, Jill Russell and husband, Rodney, of Charlotte, Heather Couick and husband, Ronnie, of Norwood, Saundra Hudson, of Troy, Weston Boles and wife, Lydia, of Charlotte, and Maggie Petrea and husband, Adam, of Rockwell. She was so proud to have 19 great-grandchildren, Erin, Emily, Palmer and Glenn Boles, Kelsey and Richie Boles, Brittany and Brooke Hatley, Cameron and Ben Whitley, Ashley, Landon and Carson Russell, Lynsey and Josh Furr, Alex and Kyle Sullivan, Shannon Hudson, Ocean Boles and Kynley Petrea. She also was blessed to have two great-great-grandchildren, Kira and Skyler Furr.
