Louise Amalia (Ami) Hurst, age 84 of Sanford, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at UNC Hospital.
Ami was born in Dobbs Ferry, New York on September 1, 1928 to the late Nelson Lewis Phillips and Amalia Moerchen Phillips.
She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Hurst Nixon and husband Ken of Raleigh, NC; a son, Scott William Hurst and wife Katherine of Boulder, CO; a sister, Gloria Ciccimarra of Tequesta, FL; four grandchildren: Heather Nixon, Kyle Nixon, Sydnee Hurst, and Paxton Hurst. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Hurst Jr., and a sister, Betty P. Bunn.
A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Sanford with Rev. Craig Lister officiating.
