Glory Wheaton died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 27, 2012, at a hospice home.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Jame Wheaton. She is survived by her daughter, Iris Wheaton, of Easthampton, Mass.; her daughter-in-law, Margot Hennessy; her grandson, Colin Elliott; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Glory retired to Pinehurst with Jim, where she lived for 32 years. In 2008, Glory moved to Holyoke, Mass., to be near her daughter. She was a member of the Silver Foils, a hospice volunteer for 27 years, and a wonderful friend to many, both two-legged and four-legged. She will be deeply missed by so many.
There was a gathering at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Loomis House, Holyoke, Mass., to celebrate her life. A gathering to bury her ashes will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Cohocton (N.Y.) Clearview Cemetery.
