John William Yates Jr., 59, of Pinehurst, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012.
A memorial service will be held in John’s honor at 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Seven Lakes North, Sequoia Point Lake (Firetree Lane). Interment will be private.
He was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Ashland, Ky., to the late John, Sr. and Betty Yates. John grew up in Barberton, Ohio, where he met the love of his life, Debra Yates (Wiseman) and was united in marriage. They started a family in Ohio and in 1989 moved to North Carolina.
John was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grand “daddy.” He enjoyed spending time with family and riding his motorcycle. He had a caring heart and great sense of humor. His smile and laughter could light up a room. John enjoyed life to the fullest and will be loved and remembered, always, and never forgotten.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Yates; three daughters, Jayme Cox (Duane), Julie Yates and Jessica Yates; one brother, Henry Yates (Joanne); and three grandchildren.
