Mary Athelene Clapp Brantley, 89, formerly of Siler City, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center, Trinity.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana W. Hairr and husband, Frank of Climax, Cheryl Powers and husband, David, of Southern Pines; sister, Orpha Lee Phillips, of Siler City; grandchildren, Steve Powers and wife, Tiffany, Rachel Patterson and husband, Andy, Kathy Bonyun and husband, David, Emily Hendricks and husband, Chris; great-grandchild, Sam and Ben Bonyum, Mary Elizabeth and Sarah Hendricks, Savannah, Lauren and Hadley Powers, Peyton and Abram Patterson.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Clyde Denny officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
