Judith Ellen Rosinski, 70, passed Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at her residence in Pinehurst.
A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, in Pinehurst, with the Rev. Edward J. Burch officiating.
Mrs. Rosinski was born Dec. 11, 1941, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Martin Edward Roloff and Madeline Florence Brann Roloff. Judy worked for American Airlines from 1967-77, where she enjoyed world travel and made lifelong friendships. In 1977 she took on life's most important job full time by staying home to raise her daughter, Carla. She began working for Hamburg School System in New York during the 90s as a nurse’s aide.
In 1998 she and her husband relocated to Pinehurst, where she continued with her tennis and newfound love for quilting. She was a member of Sandhills Quilters Guild and local quilting bees. She worked for Moore County Schools and was awarded Teacher Assistant of the Year in 2003 before retiring in 2004.
Judy was a member of Perpetual Adoration at Sacred Heart Church. An avid reader, she enjoyed volunteer work at the Given’s bookstore.
Judy’s humor and loving nature stayed with her throughout her difficult battle with cancer. She defied expectations by overcoming many obstacles with grace and courage. She spent the last few months comfortably at home surrounded by friends and family, always maintaining her wit.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Rosinski; a daughter, Carla Rae Rosinski; three brothers, Martin R., Daniel J. (Bobbie) and Bruce A. Roloff; and sister, Nancy(Richard) Roberts. Judy was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Roloff.
