Earl Wesley Carter, 59, of Seven Lakes, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at his home, with his family by his side.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Seven Lakes Baptist Church, in Seven Lakes.
He was born Nov. 8, 1952, in Hattiesburg, Miss., to the late Oscar Travis Carter and Ethel Marie Kelly Carter. He was formerly employed by FirstHealth of the Carolinas as the director of laundry services. He spent 40 years in the medical laundry business. He was formerly a reserve police officer for Hinds County, Miss.
Earl enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing, whitewater rafting, riding motorcycles, and was very adventurous. He was a kind and giving man, and was known for his acts of kindness. He was loved and respected by his employees. Earl was funny and witty. He always took care of his children and stepchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Garrison Carter; two sons, Capt. (USAF) Earl Wesley Carter II and Vernon Blake Carter; stepchildren, Angela Christian, Scott Osborne and Marty Osborne; brothers, Allen Carter, Carl Carter, Glenn Carter, Jerry Carter and Paul Carter; two sisters, Mary Carter and Shirley Ann Carter; and grandchildren, Caleb, Hannah and Haley Carter, and Austin and Teddy Osborne.
