Ina Louise Faw Keegan, 92, entered into eternal life Sunday, July 29, 2012.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Community Presbyterian Church, in Pinehurst. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Fannie B. Gray Parlor of the church. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
She was born May 12, 1920, to the late Thomas and Nancy Faw, in Ashe County. As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ralph; brothers, Allen, Bill, George and Woody; and sisters, Clara, Judy, Mary, Minnie and Peggy.
She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Keegan and Julie Kindred and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Jason Kindred and wife, Catherine, Valerie Kruglik and husband, Geoff, and Brett Kindred; great grandchildren, Miranda, Brandon and Carolina; nieces, nephews and cousins and longtime friend Lu Simpson.
Ina enjoyed crossword puzzles, bridge, word games and time with family at the beach.
She loved the Lord and was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst, where she served as an elder. Her passions, journalism and politics, provided not only a career, but decades of often highly charged debate with friend and foe.
Active in Moore County Republican politics, she worked with and vigorously campaigned for her good friend Sen. Harris Blake. While serving as press secretary for Ralph J. Perk, the mayor of Cleveland, from 1971 to 1977, she was asked by George H.W. Bush to come and work for him in Washington, D.C.
Ina loved her family, loved life, and was grateful for her many blessings. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Thank you Mom; we love you.
